About Hours: If there is no one around by 9pm on weeknights, the volunteer staff is free to leave, so be sure to arrive by 9pm. There should be no problem getting in, as the front door is equipped with a buzzer system for post-business hours.

Song of Myself Marathon Reading

Join us on the rooftop of the IPRC for a marathon reading of Walt Whitman’s 1855 version of Song of Myself.

The exciting line up of readers includes Emily Kendal Frey, Amy Temple Harper, Cooper Lee Bombardier, A.M. O’Malley, Alisha Bruton, Justin Hocking, Hajara Quinn, Moe Bowstern, Zoe Tambling, James Gendron, First Lady of Portland Nancy Hales and many others! There will also be a special guest appearance by Tin House Book’s Whitman Illuminated illustrator Allen Crawford, he will be signing prints and books.

The reading is 2.5 hours long and people can come and go as they please.

This event is free and open to the public. It starts at 5:30pm (sharp!) and will end by 9pm.

Beer and wine will be available for a small donation this event is free and open to the public.
