Touring poet Stevie Edwards and local poets Ross Robbins, Cassie Von Alst and Josh Gaines will be reading for your pleasure.

Stevie Edwards currently is a Lecturer in the English Department at Cornell University, where she recently completed her MFA in creative writing. Her first full-length collection of poetry, Good Grief , was released by Write Bloody in 2012 and was subsequently awarded the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY) Bronze Prize for Poetry and the Devil’s Kitchen Reading Award. She is the Editor-in Chief  of MUZZLE Magazine and Assistant Editor in Book Development at YesYes Books. Her poetry has appeared in Verse DailyRattleIndiana ReviewDevil’s LakeSalt HillBODY, Vinyl, and Aim for the Head: An Anthology of Zombie Poetry.
Josh Gaines is a former military officer Folger’s drinker turned cheerful poet and publisher. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Poems he vaguely remembers writing have appeared in numerous journals, and anthologized by Village Books Press, and Mongrel Empire Press. His short fiction has been featured in Ginger Piglet, and Dark Mountain of London. Josh’s own poetry collections, Cigarette Sonatas, and the limited run of Little Bones, were published through Thoughtcrime Press. He currently lives in Portland and roasts his own coffee.

Ross Robbins is a shameless harlot. His book, Mental Hospital: A Memoir, comes out on YesYes Books later this year. Visit him in Portland.

Cassie Von Alst is a writer, biker, and barista in Portland. She co-organizes the spoken word group NoPoSpoWo (whose twice-a-month open mics are pretty much worth checking out) and frequents a host of other writing/slam/storytelling events about town. Her work can be found in no-line notebooks, piles of scraps, and scribbled into the margins of free pamphlets.

Free and open to the public.
