Announcing New Partnership with WeMake PDX

The Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC) is thrilled to announce a new collaborative partnership with WeMake PDX, who has generously offered to sponsor the IPRC’s screen printing studio. Their gift will help support our ongoing efforts to grow into our new location, and expand and revitalize our screen printing equipment and programming. Contributions from WeMake PDX and two private donors help tremendously in our efforts to reach our year-end fundraising goals.

WeMake PDX founder Yvonne Perez Emerson notes: “I have been a huge fan of the IPRC for many years. Their offerings to the creative community has given many people a platform to express and inspire themselves and others. Print is not dead, and storytelling is a vital element of creative expression. We need organizations like the IPRC to flourish and I am thrilled that WeMake can help to make that happen. Congratulations on your twentieth anniversary, you are amazing!”

This is one of WeMake’s largest contributions in its seven-year history. Over the nonprofit’s existence, WeMake has donated about $95,000 raised through community design-in-action initiatives supported by Portland’s maker community.

WeMake joins a growing group of individual and group sponsors of the IPRC and will be honored with a sign noting their sponsorship of the center’s screen printing studio.

The IPRC and WeMake PDX have aligned missions to serve the vibrant maker community through various programs and special events reaching thousands of artistic individuals in Portland and beyond. Both organizations are committed to building connections between local artists, authors, and publishers; launching careers in new fields; and providing creative, accessible, and collaborative environments in which people can work on their projects and find new inspiration.

Together with WeMake PDX, we can’t wait to see the kinds of collaborations and creative projects that will be made possible by this confluence of diverse makers, designers, writers, and artists.
