IPRC’s 15th Birthday Bash

As tectonic shifts rock the entire world of publishing, the IPRC is leading a major uprising of small press and DIY publishing. Now located in a productive 4,000 sq. ft. space, in June 2013 the IPRC celebrates its fifteenth year of providing workspace, resources and education to independent writers, artists and publishers.

To honor this major milestone, the IPRC is hosting a 15th Birthday Bash. The Bash coincides with the completion of a major renovation of the IPRC’s exterior storefront, including two new glass roll-up doors, new paint and signage.

Festivities commence with a Pedalpalooza Zine & Comics-Reading by Bike Ride (non-mandatory, of course), beginning at 5:15pm at Floating World Comics and ending at the IPRC’s Bash at 7:15pm.

The Bash will feature hands-on letterpress demonstrations, where attendees can pull their own commemorative letterpress prints. We’ll also have a huge print sale with work by some of Portland’s finest local artists: Bwana Spoons, Lori D, Souther Salazar, Fiona Avocado, Gabriel Liston and many more.

Beer and wine will flow all night thanks to Ninkasi and Portland Wine storage.

Special Snowflake Supper Club will provide an incredible spread of Mayan/Aztec delectables with a Quinceañera theme, alongside sweet and savory treats from Bakeshop, Pine State Biscuits and Boke Bowl. To top it off, artist Heather Watkins will create a fifteen foot-long cake decorated with a timeline of the IPRC’s history and development over the past fifteen years.
