Hand lettering allows you the ultimate in creative freedom when it comes to working with letterforms. This class will cover the very basics of typography, the history behind why letters are formed the way they are, creating consistency in a hand lettered alphabet, and the reasons for choosing hand lettering over computer set type. Students will learn a variety of tools that can be used in hand lettering and should come away with knowledge and confidence to add creative lettering to their future projects. DISCLAIMER: This is a very basic skills class. If you have a typography or extensive graphic design background, you may find us covering much of what you already know.
