Take your zines, mini comics, and other small-press projects to the next level with this workshop. You’ll learn a bevy of book binder’s tips and tricks for adding aesthetic flourishes your small-press production, such the pamphlet stitch, stab binding, french flaps, face trims, rounded corners, gate folds, and much more, as well as ways to increase your productivity through the use of jigs and other time- and labor-saving techniques. We’ll also have a discussion about what hand craft can add to a zine project on several levels, from the aesthetic to the cerebral, with plenty of beautiful samples drawn from the instructor’s collection and the IPRC zine library for inspiration.
