What makes a piece of writing pulse with life? What gives it texture, quality and beauty? In this 4-week workshop series, we will explore and create pieces of writing that embody thought, feeling, imagination and the senses. During each session we will look at pieces of inspiring literature that have mastered the craft of atmosphere, tone, language, imagery and beautifully-layered prose. We will then play with prompts that ignite the senses such as scent, visual art, music and guided visualisation. There will be time for us to write, share and reflect, leaving each session with an expanded imagination along with fresh and creative ways to generate a powerful on-going practice with confidence. This workshop series is for all levels of writers, appealing to those who have a particular interest in fiction in all its forms, memoir, vignette and personal essay.
