Flood: Open Studio & Q&A

December 20, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Flood: Open Studio & Q&A

Calling all aspiring agitators! Learn more about how to create your own compelling, informative, and disruptive printed media for peoples’ movements!

Join the IPRC and community members for an Artist Talk and Workshop on Wednesday, December 20th. We’ll hear from artist-activists Ali Cat of Entangled Roots Press, Sheyam Ghieth, and Rimona Eskayo about how they came into their collaborative propaganda practices. They’ll offer guidance on how to use words and images (and get printed matter out on the streets!) for the beginner propagandist.

After the artist talk and Q+A, participants will get the chance to learn about using a variety of print mediums and and zine forms to make their own propaganda — by the end of the night, everyone will get the chance to pull a screenprint, use the risograph, and try out some zine folding techniques! Each participant will take home their own hand-printed copy of a new zine, FLOOD, a new propaganda-maker’s resource guide by the featured artists.

No artistic experience required!

Note: this is not an intro to printmaking workshop; participants interested in learning screenprinting or riso printing can check out the IPRC’s monthly printmaking intro series here.

Covid Safer Policy: This event is in-person; Masks Required & Proof of Vaccination encouraged. More about the IPRC’s Covid-Safer Guidelines here reach out to info@iprc.org with questions re: medical exemption.
