IPRC Workshops will be held on zoom, PST through Summer 2021

Over the course of 6 weeks, this experimental concept studio class will demonstrate different ways to assemble, collect and identify aspects from the everyday as material for creating visual and written narratives. This class will explore chance and choice, collaboration, materiality, site specificity, and the symbolism of objects as themes to creating with different media.

Instructor: Elizabeth Arzani

Workshop Fee: $75-150 sliding scale

Materials: Below is a basic list of materials and tools that will be needed in class. Additional materials may vary dependent on each student’s desires and needs. Materials, tools and techniques will be discussed in class.

• Sketchbook

• Paper and drawing materials

• Scissors or X-acto blade

• Cutting board or cardboard

• Glue • Tape

• Tracing paper

• found and collected objects

• constructed or found container

Instructor Bio: Elizabeth Arzani is an artist and art educator from Charlotte, NC. She earned her BFA in Painting, Art Education and Art History degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is a current MFA Visual Studies candidate at Pacific Northwest College of Art. As a collector of sorts, her work is rooted in storytelling, utilizing found objects as memory markers. Elizabeth has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally as well as nationally, from Seattle, WA and Portland, OR to Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill, SC. Outside of her studio practice, Elizabeth has been teaching for the past eight years in various capacities in Charlotte, NC, Seattle, WA and abroad in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.
