Workshop Description: Do you feel like maintaining your art practice means somehow always and yet never “working”? In this six week process and community oriented course, together we will brainstorm structures and support for making art.  We will read and discuss writing by  Philip Toshio Sudo, Rollo May, Jerry Saltz, and others  addressing “imposter syndrome”, art practice and ritual, and building respectful community.

Students will  participate in generative in-class writing exercises, draft pitch letters and artist statements, and create a shared calendar of deadlines and events. This workshop is open to all kinds of artists, with the understanding that reading and writing will make up a large component of the course.
