Alyson Provax is interested in recording the emotional perception of time and documenting the details of waste. This show includes two interrelated projects, The Time Wasting Experiments and Duration. For almost two years she has been tracking and then documenting her wasted time on letterpress cards. More recently she has become interested in the way that durations of time are measured, and the way our perception of the passage of time shifts and changes. The focus of the Duration project is to explore the dissonance and occasional alignment between the measured passage of time and perceived passage of time. Alyson lives and works in Portland.
