2023 re/source residency: Open Call For Proposals

re/source residency is a year-long program designed to support artists and writers of color who are looking for opportunities to develop their creative practice and share with the wider community. Launched in 2019 as the IPRC’s BIPOC Artist & Writers Residency, re/source residency is currently in its 5th year. With support from OCF Creative Heights and community partner studios, this iteration of the residency program emphasizes collaboration and cross-organizational exploration. Together with residents, we hope to build containers for connection, experimentation, and creative questioning.

This year’s residency term will be from September 2023 through September 2024. Visual artists and writers are welcome to apply individually or as a small group (2-4 people). A jury made up of community members of color (excluding IPRC staff) will select six projects to be in residence for the year.

These residencies are primarily for Portland Metro Area residents (as we don’t provide housing), though it is open for anyone in Oregon.

*Access and space note: The IPRC  requires masks and proof of vaccination/booster against COVID-19. Medical exemptions are accepted on a case by case basis. While the center is currently open by appointment only, residents will be welcome to coordinate with staff for after hours access. We expect residents to respect the COVID policies of partnering spaces as well.
