Instructors: Jay Ponteri & Elizabeth Arzani
Workshop Description: this transdisciplinary generative making space frames text as a visual space and language as one among many materials an artist can use. Each session, we work together through generative-making prompts that encourage exploration across and between mediums, disciplines, and genres. Techniques and processes such as collage, drawing, paper weaving and paper sculpture will explore visual elements of shape, line, pattern, and texture in tandem with writing methods. This is not a critique/workshop space—but a generative space.
Supplies supplied by PNCA: Paper, glue stick, scissors, rulers, pencils, and drawing materials. Participants are invited to bring their own papers or favorite pens.
This workshop is part of a series of fundraisers in to support the IPRC, with a suggested donation of $225 – $450
Covid Safer Policy: This event is in-person; Masks Required.
Sensory Note: for anyone experiencing audio or visual sensitivity, please note that the IPRC is situated under a skatepark, which creates occasional disruptive background noise, and the lighting in the studio and classroom space is primarily fluorescent. We do have ear plugs available for members.
