Only supplies you need: paper and pencil, or whatever you have handy at home

1) WHO ARE WE?
Manta ‘Milya is family of artists– Manta J, autistic teen artist (visual, music, video) and his mom, Mela K, aka Pamela K. Santos, conceptual artist and writer.

2) WHAT IS THIS?
Mela K holds space for Manta J and autistic youth artists to make their own art at the same time, in a creatively open and comfortable environment. Think of it as coworking with art. Work independently in a community.

3) HOW DOES IT WORK?
a- Everyone can make art! Doodle shapes, repeat letters across a page, make a self-portrait, draw your hand!
b- We all can do our own thing! The meetup is not an art lesson, guided project, or autism discussion group.
c- Mela K answers questions from participants and facilitates communication for Manta J only when needed.
Consider modeling Manta ‘Milya communication and let autistic youth “speak” for themselves in the way they can (for example, chat for typing or AAC devices).
d- DON’T BE MEAN. We know what mean feels like. BE COOL.
e- Shyness is welcome! Sharing art is optional.
f- HAVE FUN!

5) MINI-ORIENTATION AT 1:45PM:

6) WHY EMAILS?
You can edit answers in your submission. That’s why we need email addresses for contact info.
