Zine Prom at the IPRC

Aug ’13
10
8:00 pm

To celebrate the first night of the Portland Zine Symposium, we’lll be hosting the time of your life. Otherwise known as: Zine Prom. More fun and less drama than your high school one. No partner or fancy attire required (though all manners of fun clothing are encouraged). With a photo booth, a silent auction, raffles, a snack table, a punch pool, beers from Ninkasi, plus DJ Rap Class from the world-renowned Dropping Gems crew and DJs Cheyenne & Aaron from the Reverse Couple Skate radio show, it is guaranteed to be fun

The Zine Prom has a suggested donation of $5 per person at the door. All proceeds help keep the Portland Zine Symposium going. Door Donations include a paper corsage and a raffle ticket. And remember to bring extra cash for the photobooth and the silent auction!

Local photographer and organizer Leila Hofstein will be running our photobooth and helping you commemorate your lucky night at Zine Prom! A fixture of Portland’s queer community, her photobooth is common as many Portland dance nights. She is also Youth Coordinator for PFLAG Black Chapter and proprietress of Protean Arts. She’ll be donating her services to Zine Prom, but a $3 suggested tip for her work is encouraged.
