Sister Spit at the IPRC

Sister Spit, the legendary queer-feminist literary roadshow returns to Portland for one night at the IPRC, with live performance touching on race, gender, body politics, sex, glamour, violence, forgiveness and heroine-worship.

Featuring body positivity activist Virgie Tovar, creator of #losehatenotweight and editor of the anthology Hot and Heavy: Fierce Fat Girls on Life, Love and Fashion; poet and artist Myriam Gurba, author of Sweatsuits of the Damned and Wish You Were Me; international avant-drag performance artist Mica Sigourney, creator of San Francisco’s club SOME THING and founding member of the the collaboration Nicole Kidman is Fucking Gorgeous; a Sister Spit Books showcase with video from acclaimed Man Alive author Thomas McBee and the debut of Lil’ Sister Spit’s kids’ book Rad American Women A-Z with cut paper art by Miriam Klein Stahl and text by Kate Schatz. Plus, a reading from Portland’s Cooper Lee Bombardier and other local guests!

$10-15 sliding scale, pay at the door.
