From Octavia Butler to Ursula K. Le Guin, science fiction pushes us to rethink society.

The IPRC hosts a conversation on social justice and science fiction with Walidah Imarishai (writer, poet, and co-editor of upcoming anthology Octavia’s Brood: Science Fiction Stories from Social Justice Movements) and Grace DIllon (Portland State University professor of Indigenous Nations Studies and editor of Walking the Clouds: An Anthology of Indigenous Science Fiction), moderated by Bitch Media Online Editor Sarah Mirk.

The conversation will be followed by a hands-on writing exercise. Everyone who attends will also get the chance to make a free screenprint.

Drinks and snacks provided. You bring the bright ideas.

This event is free and all-ages.
