While highlighting recent events/trends in the industry and how they relate to you, we’ll have our presenters give you the tools to create your own plan that works for your project. Topics include how and what to plan with your output, identifying effective audiences, maximizing engagement, and using social ads. We’ll cover the if, when and who of hiring someone to manage your social presence. We’ll have 3 specialists give you an insider’s perspective of what works for small creative businesses, followed by a brief Q&A.

Presenter: Simon Tam is an award-winning musician, best-selling author, entrepreneur, and social justice activist.
Simon is best known as the founder and bassist of The Slants, the world’s first and only all-Asian American dance rock band. His approach to activism through the arts has been highlighted in thousands of media features across 82 countries, including: BBC World NewsNPRTime MagazineRolling Stone, and The Wall Street Journal. He has been a performer, presenter, and keynote at events and organizations such as TED talks, US Department of DefenseStanford University, and over 1,200 others across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Presenter: Kathryn Griffin roots herself in a unique perspective and understanding the work at hand. Bringing a diverse experience throughout music industry, her skilled use of advertising and marketing platforms through social media keeps pace with the music industry’s ever-changing atmosphere. Heavily involved in the entertainment & festival event world, Kathryn’s roles have included Marketing Director, Volunteer Coordinator, Artist Relations, alongside Production roles. Her resume include festival and events such as Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Electric Forest,WakarusaCoachellaJam CruiseSouth by Southwest among many more.

Organizer & Presenter: Will Fries serves on the board of Division Clinton Business Association, while specializes in Data Marketing & Piloting Business Concepts for Micro-Venture organizations. As principal of The Business Dept. he aides local businesses & creatives get the most value out of their special projects and day to day systems.
