About Hours: If there is no one around by 9pm on weeknights, the volunteer staff is free to leave, so be sure to arrive by 9pm. There should be no problem getting in, as the front door is equipped with a buzzer system for post-business hours.

Online Offering! Creative Writing with Carter Sickels

This unique class will contain eight-weeks of creative writing instruction.

The course begins with an intensive online writing workshop, with in-depth instruction on the elements of craft. The online format gives you the freedom to join a vibrant community of writers, no matter your schedule or where you live. Expect to workshop one story, plus write short assignments that may generate future material. You’ll receive instructor and peer critiques; lectures and interactive discussions are also included. This is a supportive environment where you will receive careful guidance and productive feedback. It’s an opportunity to improve your writing and to learn more about the way fiction works. Class is open to novice and experienced writers–come ready to write!

About the Instructor:

 

Carter Sickels is the author of the novel The Evening Hour (Bloomsbury). He received his MFA in Fiction at Penn State University, and a master’s degree in Folklore at the University of North Carolina at UNC. Sickels has also taught creative writing classes at Gotham Writers’ Workshop.
