Book Release & Reading with Emily Kendal Frey and Rodney Koeneke

Please join us in celebrating the release of two new poetry
collections: ETRURIA by Rodney Koeneke (Wave Books) and SORROW ARROW
(Octopus Books) by Emily Kendal Frey

RODNEY KOENEKE is author of the poetry collections Etruria
(forthcoming from Wave Books April 2014), Musee Mechanique (BlazeVOX,
2006), andRouge State (Pavement Saw, 2003), winner of the
Transcontinental Poetry Award, along with several chapbooks. He’s also
published a historical monograph, Empires of the Mind: I.A. Richards
and Basic English in China, 1929-1979 (Stanford University Press,
2004). An early member of the Flarf Collective, he was involved with
Poets Theater and Neo-Benshi events in the San Francisco Bay Area
until 2006, when he moved to Portland, Oregon where he currently
lives, writes, and teaches British and World History at Portland State
University.

EMILY KENDAL FREY is the author of the full-length poetry collection
The Grief Performance (Cleveland State University Poetry Center,
2011); the chapbooksFrances (Poor Claudia, 2010), The New Planet
(Mindmade Books, 2010), and Airport (Blue Hour, 2009); as well as
three chapbook collaborations. Frey’s The Grief Performance was
selected for the Cleveland State Poetry Center’s 2010 First Book Prize
by Rae Armantrout. She also won the Poetry Society of America’s 2012
Norma Farber First Book Award.
