Learn to set movable lead type and print on a table-top handpress in the IPRC print shop. You’ll learn the vocabulary of printing and typesetting while getting a feel for this beautiful and historical process. Leave class with a printed card and the satisfaction that comes with using 100 year old equipment! Come to class with small quotes or ideas for words to print. Successful completion of this class allows IPRC members access to open studio print hours so you can keep on printing!

Beginning Indesign
Put down the scissors and glue sticks and learn to use Adobe InDesign, a page layout and print software program that will allow you to create and deliver printed materials that are both attractive and affective.

Advanced Gocco
Students work in two groups on the ‘project of the hour”, Hour one-eliminating dropouts and blotchiness in your prints; hour two-multi-color registration, print on larger formats; hour three-open screen printing; hour four print with your food (and eat it too)!

Zine Reading & Open Mic
Share your writing with the masses! Featured reader, Carrot Quinn, author of ‘Dirt & Cheese’ will read from her latest collection. Then the open mic will open up for fellow vociferous zinesters!

Print Gocco Basics
Location: IPRC
Cost: $20/$30. Materials Fee $8.
The Print Gocco is a small, easy-to-use, self-contained printing machine. Using this simple screenprinting method, you can produce prints on paper or fabric. The workshop covers original preparation, screen exposure and printing. You can make multiple amazing and professional-looking postcards and more! Once trained you can use the IPRC’s Print Goccos anytime.
